49ers/ Ravens Super Bowl Game
Franchise History Changed for the 49ers
NEW ORLEANS- Blackout as a helping hand 49ers gain momentum and brought a close game. Ravens lost stamina, but that had not stopped them, they defeated the 49ers with little time to keep their game up.
With the score still being 34-31 the 49ers hoped for a touchdown or call to give them more time. Coach Jim Harbaugh screamed from the sidelines, “that’s holding,” just after Crabtree had passed the end zone, and Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith had grabbed him. No official had made a call, making the 49ers believe that they could have won the game; if only that call had been made the game could have been changed. The 49ers could have had a 10 yard lead, but having officials that lets players play, had missed the call. Causing and resulting for both teams to feel heated tension, as well, as eagerness for the game to go the way they had wanted. With countless seconds to spare at the end of the game the 49ers, Jason Turner, caused a delay of seven seconds; resulting in a safety; bringing down the scoreboard time to four seconds. Returning back to the game the 49ers had no choice other than to play those four seconds strong and as best they could.
Ravens winning their second Super Bowl game, and receiving their second ring left the 49ers to end their franchise with 5-1; a shocking ending for both teams. Quarterback Joe Flacco, of the Ravens, awarded MVP, had done all that he could to bring a successful and entertaining game. With the help of his teammates Jacoby James, Ed Reed, Rice, and Ray Lewis—Flacco had succeeded in completing 22 out of 33 passes for 287 yards.
