SMSA Tigers vs. Ellington Knights
HARTFORD, CT-At Colt Park, amazing and close game between the SMSA Tigers and the Ellington Knights took place. With the score being 4-6 in the 6th the tigers still pushed on.
The Tigers started the game with a record of 5-2. This team had not let the game get to them because they knew they would once again face them, as Jari Gonzalez had stated after the game “Yea, I mean we have to look at how they play, and how they’re new players were and how their offense and defense had been, so next time I think we’ll be a little better”. Knowing how close and joined as one the Lady Tigers are, they will better themselves and stick together to defeat the next team they play against. They will not let anyone stand in their way and will conquer all. Though they had ended the game with the score of 4-8, they see it as a way for them to work harder and learn to conquer
the few challenges that they have and work on the things that need some improvement.
Just before the game Jari Gonzalez, softball player, had said “it’s going to be a hard game, because I think our rivals play similar to us and skill wise they are on the same page, so it’s going to be like a head budding game.” This shows in a way that she had not been afraid to say there is team out there that can defeat them because of the simple fact that they all play the same. Gonzalez is a strong and striking player that does the best that she can, and with the help of her current teammates they are all able to read one another during the time of a game and not slack off. With teamwork like this it would be hard to stop them and throw them off of their game.
Throughout the game you can see that the Lady Tigers had been into the game, however, at the beginning as Gonzalez had mentioned they had not really been there, focused in the game, but Ellington had been and that ultimately is what had affected them. Though their mind set had not been in the game, all the players came together had pep talks and found ways to get around the other team and their strengths. They also found what a few of their weaknesses had been and took advantage of that.
TIGER, which is an offensive play, in which there is one or no outs and there is a player on first base and the person at batting bunts. The
person at first base then runs to third base without stopping and the person of which had bunted runs to second. Another outstanding play of which is a defensive one is called BLACK. In this play a catcher throws the ball to Ali, one softball player, at shortstop. Who then throws it back to home to tag out the runner who is stealing home.
As striking as this team may be they have rivals that will beat them but as long as they keep things together as a team and work as they should then they can get through it in no time and still be the best that they can be. The Lady Tigers are just starting off with a few games and have many more to come.
Without a doubt they will continue to do all that they can to make it far. We wish them the best of luck the rest of their season.
